This blog is simply the telling of one helpmeet and mother's quest to fulfill her God-ordained destiny. It is written with the hopes that other young women will embrace their calling to be godly wives and mothers; that they will be encouraged to love their husband and children and will find contentment in being keepers at home.

Kitchen Cabinet Update

I thought you might be interested in an update on my kitchen cabinet organization.  In my last post I wasn't sure what to use for my spices.  I decided to use glass jelly jars.  They are the perfect fit for this cabinet.  Due to the fact that I have so many spices, I had to stack them two deep, but since they are in alphabetical order, it's not too much of an inconvenience. (They are in the far left cabinet.)

The baskets that I had thought such a brilliant idea in the last post, proved not to be so brilliant after all.  Nuts & chocolate chips were constantly spilled into them and therefore all over the cabinet.  So...I used quart and half gallon jars for everything. Due to the construction of the cabinet shelves, they will not stand up, so I slid them on their sides with the name printed on the lid.(On the far right)

The one thing that did work wonderfully, was the freezer basket drawer!  It worked so well, that I made another one for all the chips.  (I thought of emptying the basket in the freezer, but decided that was not very smart.  I ended up using a very sturdy produce box.

Another update that is unrelated...Here's a picture of the valances I made for the dining room...nothing like what I posted, but I really like them.  I still plan to make curtains, but haven't had a chance to get at them yet.

Great job, Mom! I appreciate your hard work.

I love to organize things, too. (*cough* But I doubt you would know that.) I love the order that presides in the cabinets!

I'm rather excited about the curtains...THEY MATCH!!!
